On Thursday the 12th of October the funeral of Mr. Philip Curtis, Chairman of the National Flying Club took place. Members of the NFC committee joined over three hundred friends and family in attendance. His daughter Claire recited a poem before heartfelt tributes by his son William, along with NFC President Mr. Mick McGrevy, which gave testament to his exceptional qualities as a husband, father, friend and colleague. His contribution in his position as chairman of the NFC is considered as “one of the very best and is going to prove a hard act to follow” The National Flying Club has benefited by his hard working enthusiasm for the club and its continued improvements. He believed strongly in developing new sections in order to bring National racing accolades to outlying areas of the country and his passion for the Tarbes Grand National was rewarded in 2016 with 1st section K and 7th Open.
